sample collection

At the time of the appointment, we conduct visual inspections throughout the property as we will collect the lead samples. We will collect 2 samples from each bedroom and 1 sample from a common place, ie living room or kitchen. The sample collections are taken from the window sill and floor of the noted locations. The best way to prepare for the collection is to clean the areas at minimum an hour before your scheduled appointment.

lab testing

Providing the appointment is within standard business hours, your sample will be sent to the laboratory the same day. Lab processing takes 3-5 business days unless you have requested expedited processing when scheduling your appointment. 

certification issuance

Congrats you've passed! Once we have received the results from the laboratory confirming the allowable lead limits, you will receive an email from us with the lab results, lead-safe certification, and the visual inspection report (for your records only). Included will also be instructions on how to upload these records to the city. We can offer do this for you at an additional cost. IF any of the samples should fail, we will schedule a retest at a discounted rate depending on the results.
